BEN FURMAN

Ben Furman is a Finnish psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and professor specializing in solution-focused therapy, coaching, and organizational development. He has authored over 20 books on solution-focused psychology, published in various languages, including two in Spanish: «Kids’ Skills» and «Never Too Late to Have a Happy Childhood.»

In 1985, Ben and his colleague Tapani Ahola founded the Helsinki Brief Therapy Institute (Lyhytterapiainstituutti), where Ben worked as a trainer in solution-focused therapy and organizational development. Ben has also been a media personality, hosting his own TV show (200 episodes) and a call-in radio program on the Finnish National Broadcasting Company YLE.

Internationally recognized as a solution-focused psychology trainer, Ben has developed innovative methods and tools such as the Kids’ Skills program and Responsibility Steps for helping children and adolescents overcome problems, Reteaming, Twin-Star, and Cooperation for solution-focused teaching for leaders and organizational staff.

Ben works extensively at an international level, regularly teaching in solution-focused training programs in the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, and Sweden. He has also taught in countries including Bulgaria, England, Scotland, Iceland, Denmark, Norway, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Egypt, Germany, the USA, Mexico, New Zealand, Israel, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, and Austria. Currently, Ben runs his own consultancy.
