JONAY DIAZ

Experience fundamentally built on the intervention and strengthening of children, youth, adults, and families linked to the Child Protection System, prevention, and Municipal Social Services, specialized foster care, and private practice among others. Actively participating in the last decade with Tenerife’s Specialized Island Teams for Child and Family Care to develop interdisciplinary interventions with entities and administrations such as the Tenerife Island Council or the General Directorate for Children and Families of the Canary Islands.

Experience solidified through versatile practice and integrative training, mainly in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Coaching, and Dialogical and Collaborative Practices. In 2013, received specialized training by Mark Beyebach as part of the Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Training in Tenerife, obtaining certification as an Advanced Solution-Focused Practitioner in Brief Systemic Intervention, endorsed by the International Alliance of Focused Training Institutes. Complemented by training and influences from Matthew Selekman, Harleen Anderson, Ben Furman, Rocío Chaveste, Sue Young, Valentín Escudero, and Manuel Segura, among others.

This training and experience allowed for directing the Galatea Cabinet for 10 years and presiding over the Galatea Association for Social and Family Wellbeing. An interdisciplinary center and NGO focused on solutions, developing social, family, and professional strengthening programs in cooperation with administrations like the Tenerife Island Council and the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, and entities such as Caixa Proinfancia, Aldeas Infantiles, or the University of La Laguna.

This personal and professional background has recently led to actively joining the board of the Imagine Association for Research and Development of Solution-Focused Practice and organizing the International EBTA Congress with colleagues Toni Medina and Vanesa Cabrera, organizing various international training sessions related to solution-focused practice over the past five years
